Sophia Kruz’s award-winning film Little Stones (2017) follows four women from around the world who use art to empower women and girls. From a graffiti artist speaking out against domestic violence in the favelas of Brazil to a dancer rehabilitating sex-trafficking survivors in India, Little Stones presents stories of women making an impact on a global scale.

Following the screening, Deborah Breede, professor, and Andrea Bergstrom, assistant professor in CCU’s Department of Communication, Media and Culture, discuss “little stones” – small, creative gestures of activism – that inspire and heal.

The event is funded by ZONTA and presented by CCU’s Gender Communication (COMM 304) class within the Department of Communication, Media and Culture; Women’s and Gender Studies program; Live Well division of Student Life; and the Golden Z service club.
