A Creative Nonfiction Reading by Tessa Fontaine
Tuesday, Sept. 18, 5:30 p.m.
Tessa Fontaine gives a reading of her work followed by a book signing. Fontaine is the author of The Electric Woman: A Memoir in Death-Defying Acts, a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers pick and an Amazon Editors Choice writer. She spent the 2013 season performing with the last American traveling circus sideshow, the World of Wonders; her essays based on that experience won a 2016 AWP Intro Journals Award in Nonfiction and have appeared in The Rumpus, Hayden’s Ferry Review and Autre. Fontaine has taught for The New York Times Student Journeys program as well as in prisons for five years, and she founded a Writers in the Schools program in Salt Lake City, Utah.
