The War & Society Colloquium examines conflicts in historical context by addressing the social and cultural effects of conflict upon the societies that experience them as well as the ways that societies and cultures shape the conflicts
they wage. Topics include Ending the Great War in the East; Ending the Great War in the West; the Great War in the British Literary Imagination and Literature; and Woodrow Wilson, Selling War and the 14 Points. Lectures will be presented, respectively, by CCU faculty members Christopher Gunn, assistant professor, and Philip Whalen, professor, both of the Department of History; Cynthia Port, associate professor in the Department of English; and Wink Prince, Professor Emeritus in the Department of History.
