Walk the Line: How State Boundaries Unite and Divide Bookmark and Share

Feb 7

6 p.m. @ Alford Ballroom

Derek Everett, accomplished historian of the American West and instructor of history at Colorado State University, delivers a lecture examining the construction of state boundaries in the trans-Mississippi West and how they intersected and impacted regional identities. In his second book, Creating the American West (2014), Everett argues, “State boundaries both divide and unite, providing a structure to help manage the disparate populations and environments that constitute the United States. For countless people then and now, these lines matter.”
