We'll be Together Again: A Tribute to Joe Pass and J.J. Johnson Bookmark and Share

Feb 17

4 p.m. @ Edwards Recital Hall

Chris Connolly, trombonist and lecturer in CCU’s Department of Music, along with guitarist John Ware and special guests, presents a tribute concert to jazz virtuosos Joe Pass, guitarist, and J.J. Johnson, trombonist. Johnson’s and Pass’ 1984 duo album We’ll Be Together Again had a groundbreaking effect on the range of possibilities of their respective instruments, and this concert recreates the iconic musical experience. Connolly has performed with Lou Rawls, Ray Charles, Kenny Rogers and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and released a jazz CD titled Since Last We Met (2017). Ware has traveled throughout the East Coast and the Caribbean islands playing solo and with duos, trios and bands including the Gatlin Brothers, Loren Gold of The Who and Adley Stump of NBC’s The Voice.
