6 p.m. @ Edwards 129

Ben Sota, assistant professor in the Department of Theatre, and Milla Blackwelder, sophomore physical theatre major, present a performance and discussion of their Summer 2018 clowning experience with a Patch Adams touring collective in Costa Rica. The 10th Annual Clowning and Caring in Costa Rica and LaCarpio Festival explored ways of giving and receiving care through performance, improvisation and clowning techniques. Sota and Blackwelder presented at the La Carpio Festival and performed at schools, nursing homes and a women’s prison, in addition to sharing one-on-one time with Patch Adams. Sota and Blackwelder will share their insights, performance and photos from the experience.
