Please join us for the Third Annual Black Alumni Weekend, sponsored by the Black Alumni Chapter of the Coastal Carolina University Alumni Association. Enjoy a weekend filled with relationship-building with black alumni, scholarship fundraising and fostering undergraduate mentorship. Be sure to take the time to get to know someone from a different class year.

The $50 registration fee includes tickets to all events, welcome bag, a year membership in the CCU Alumni Association and, most importantly, a donation toward the Pat Singleton-Young Student Leadership Annual Scholarship.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

10-11 a.m. - Registration – Lib Jackson Student Center Lobby

11 a.m.to noon - Money! Money! Money! – LJSC Theater

  • A discussion about finances, student loans and money management with alumni from various areas in the financial world.

12:15-1:15 p.m. - State of the Union – LJSC Theater

  • A discussion with undergraduates and alumni about issues facing African-Americans on campus and in the world today.

1:30-2:15 p.m. - Lunch – CINO Grille

  • Joint luncheon with African American Initiative for Males (AAIM) and Women of Color (WOC).

2:30-4 p.m. - Campus tours

9 p.m.to 1:30 a.m. - Back In the Day! 90s vs 2000s Party – The Beach House Bar & Grill • 1205 Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach SC

  • Pull out those throwback outfits for this party as we decide which decade was the best. Bring your old jerseys, airbrushed shirts, windbreakers, denim jumpers and other fashion trends that made these decades great. DJ Ricky the Truth provide the soundtrack with hits from both decades for a throwback party you don't want to miss!

Please note: We will be doing a clothing drive at the panel discussions on Saturday. Please bring gently used clothes or a pack of new socks or undergarments. There will be bins located at the entrance. All items will be donated to Hope House Myrtle Beach on behalf of the CCU Black Alumni Chapter.
