The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was passed in 1993 and guarantees eligible employees a certain amount of unpaid leave for applicable health circumstances. Familiarity with the FMLA is important for knowing employee eligibility requirements and reinstatement policies. In this session, participants will learn what types of events qualify for FMLA leave, required documentation for FMLA approval and leave options (paid or unpaid).
