Social Media: How has it changed business and what does it mean for your career?

Facebook, Twitter and Youtube: Everyone has visited these sites and most probably have a user account. Have you ever considered the business implications of these new media?

For businesses, social networking can be a transformational phenomenon, introducing completely new ways of engaging consumers and completely new ways to empower and engage employees and stakeholders in the business supply chain. Business uses of social networking technologies can currently be grouped into three genres: Recruitment, Idea Management and Marketing. However, this also comes with risks for business as it can be used to create a negative brand image or result in a data security breach.

On a more personal level, these social media establish your own personal brand online and are often used by potential employers to connect with you.

In this session, Nocera will explore the value proposition for business and also highlight the personal risks and opportunities for your individual careers.
