Memorial service planned for CCU faculty member Lisa Barboun

A memorial service for faculty member Lisa Barboun will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Edwards Courtyard. If it rains, the memorial service will be held in the Lackey Chapel. Students, faculty and staff are all invited.

Barboun, associate professor of world languages and cultures, died on Friday, July 29. She was 45.

Lisa was born in Willingboro, N.J., the daughter of Stephen A. and Mary T. Barboun of Medford, N.J. She lived  in Medford before moving to Conway, SC in 1995.

Lisa was a professor of languages at the Coastal Carolina University, where she taught for the past 16 years. She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, the University of Southern California and Florida State University.

She was also survived by her brother Tom Barboun and his wife Mary Ellen of Lincoln University, Penn., her sisters Dawn Armenti and her husband Vincent of Marlton, N.J., Judy Barboun-DiStefano and her husband Bruno of Medford Lakes, N.J., and Elaine Bottino and her husband James of Atco, N.J., and her faithful companion, "Baby."

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests donations to the Grey Hound Angels Rescue, 9120B Pennsauken Hwy., Pennsauken, NJ 08110 or to Greyhound Crossroad, P.O. Box 6098, Chapells, SC 29037.
