Jan 17

7 p.m. @ Burroughs & Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies, Room 100

On Tuesday, Jan. 17, the 'Explorations' lecture series of the Center for Archaeology and Anthropology begins. Lecturer Francis O'Donnell, an explorer and sculptor, will discuss his book and PBS film on Marco Polo in this program sponsored by the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology.

"In the Footsteps of Marco Polo," a PBS film and book, chronicles the journey of two ordinary guys – Denis Belliveau and Francis O’Donnell, a wedding photographer and an artist and former Marine, as they set out to follow Polo’s historic route through 22 countries during a two-year trek in the mid-1990s, as they retraced the silk road voyage that Polo made 700 years ago.
