About U: Celebrating Customer Service Week at Coastal Carolina University

Customer Service Week 2015 is an international celebration of the importance of service and the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis. Around the world, Customer Service Week is marked with celebrations, special events and activities that recognize those who serve customers across all industries and professions. Coastal Carolina University’s Office of Training, Development and Service Excellence is excited to be participating in Customer Service Week this year, and I would ask that everyone find a way to get involved. The week is about honoring those who serve our CCU customers and also provides a unique opportunity to boost morale, motivation and teamwork among our employees. Customer Service Week will be celebrated on our campus from Monday, Oct. 5, to Friday, Oct. 9.

“Customer service professionals are often unsung heroes who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide help and support,” says Margaret DeWitt, executive director of the Customer Service Group. “This week honors those who serve customers every day with dedication and professionalism.” This year’s Customer Service Week theme is ‘Everyday Heroes.’ The theme suggests that every day, frontline customer service professionals are heroes in their customers’ eyes. It’s a powerful message for our CCU service teams and the entire university to celebrate during Customer Service Week.

Coastal Carolina University is joining in the fun of Customer Service Week and this year’s "Everyday Heroes" theme. Our CCU "Everyday Heroes" show courage, civility, knowledge, gratitude and service while leaping tall buildings and obstacles in a single bound! These "Everyday Heroes" traits will be emphasized each day of the week through Facebook and social media, activities for our employees to participate in such as Superhero Trivia Contest on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and Superhero Costume Contest on Friday, Oct. 9, and there will be random recognition activities throughout the week.

Thank you to all of our CCU "Everyday Heroes" who do so much to improve the experience of our community members and customers. We will continue to be committed to service excellence and student success for years to come. Special occasions like this that allow us the time and opportunity to say thank you. Please take the time to thank the CCU "Everyday Hero" who you know provides service that takes CCU “up, up and away!”
