  • » Chanticleer and Founders to get repaved

Beginning around May 9, two of our major campus roads will be repaved.

On Chanticleer Drives east and west and Founders Drive, all the old asphalt will be removed by a milling process, then new base material will be installed, and finally new asphalt will be applied. Once the project is completed, these areas will be lined for bike lanes and vehicular traffic.

At the same time, another crosswalk, called an intersection speed table, will be installed at University Boulevard and Chanticleer Drive East (near Wheelwright and Baxley Hall). It will be similar to the one at University Boulevard and University Drive (near Lackey Chapel).

    Construction begins May 23.

Three traffic signal improvements are being made on University Boulevard, consisting of new signal equipment, controller upgrades, reprogramming and signal timing, phasing changes and incidentals including striping and detection loops.

Construction is scheduled to begin April 11 and be completed by May 11.
