Phase 3: Ask Your Orientation Leader Sessions
Throughout the end of June and July, you will be assigned to an Orientation Leader (OL) group based on your major. Before classes begin in August, we want to make sure you have the opportunity to connect with other incoming students as well as a current student leader on our campus. Your Orientation Leader will serve as your guide to learning everything you need to know about Coastal Carolina University.
During this phase of the New C.H.A.N.T. Experience, you will be asked to participate in three virtual sessions with your Orientation small group. Make it a priority to attend these groups in order to learn about CCU from the student perspective, get your questions answered, and connect with other students.
Don't know what questions to ask your OL? Phase 4: Navigate campus virtually might help you generate some.
Note: If you require a disability accommodation to access the hybrid New C.H.A.N.T. Experience (orientation), please contact email@example.com a minimum one 1 week prior to the event.
Return to Phase 2: Hang out with your academic advisor.

All virtual small group sessions will be held on Zoom, and you can access Zoom from a mobile device or from a computer. While using a computer is the preferred method, Zoom is compatible with mobile devices; you just lose some of the features on the mobile device. Click on the appropriate link in order to learn more about using Zoom, depending on the device you will be using.
We ask that you do everything in your power to attend your assigned session as your Orientation Leader has prepared content to help you transition as well as provide you opportunities to get to know your future classmates. If you are not available at the scheduled time, reach out to your Orientation Leader to find out how you can receive the missed content.
A little bit of everything about CCU will be covered during these sessions, all from a current student’s perspective. You can get your questions answered, as well as learn about the things they think you need to know to be successful.
All OL groups are assigned based on major. While it is not perfect, we have tried to group you with students who may be in your classes in the fall.
Absolutely. The group who you meet with virtually will be the same group you meet with during CINO TIE which is phase 5 of this experience.
