Optional OER Component for COOL Grant Recipients
For those going through the COOL Grant process and have opted in the supplemental OER grant, you have a total of 2 additional trainings required for the Open Educational Resources (OER) component; one is face-to-face, and the 2nd part is online. OER faculty are now also being guided to work one-on-one with designated faculty from the Kimbel Library for assistance with the location and implementation of OER tools within their COOL Grant courses. Feel free to begin your OER research with this OERS by Subject Guide. Additional guidance will be provided beginning with your first OER workshop.
Integration of Open Educational Resources (OERs) Into Your Online, Hybrid, and Traditional Classes
This is an instructional hands-on session providing an overview of select OER tools and services available to Coastal's faculty members for adoption in your classes. This workshop will exame the most recommended OER tools that exist today and will discuss in depth how these tools may be integrated into your online, hybrid, and traditional face-to-face class for students with varying learning needs. Faculty will be guided through an expedited selection of appropriate OER tools to match your unique academic disciplines. Faculty will also be provided with the mechanism for documenting your OER adoption, to showcase cost savings provided on a course, program/department/, and/or college-level.
