Biography

Sherri has worked in the field of digital and online learning and educational technology for over 20 years. At Coastal, in addition to her primary duties as the Senior Executive Director with Digital Learning, she also serves as a teaching associate in the Department of Psychology, teaching classes in Adolescent Development, Child Psychology, and Gerontology. In her service and community work, Sherri serves on the Steering Committee for the OLC Innovate and Accelerate annual conferences, and is a member of the MERLOT Psychology Editorial Board, as well as the editor of the Professional Coaching MERLOT Board. In her free time, she actively volunteers with the Alzheimer's Association, and has served as a planning committee member for the Walk to End Alzheimer's, including Co-chair from 2017 through the present with the Myrtle Beach Walk to End Alzheimer's.

Primary Tasks

She oversees policies, procedures and best practices relating to digital and online learning for the Coastal campus, including a focus on the growth of open educational resources and digital accessibility improvements for the CCU campus community. She also provides oversight of the COOL Grant and Digital Learning Institute programs, QAI (Quality Assessment Inventory), COOL faculty development workshops and BPGs, OERs and digital accessibility recommendations, and the Moodle LMS and third party academic technology tools that interact with our LMS. Additionally, Sherri provides recommendations regarding internal and external course and program advertising and promotion options s in the digital and online learning space.
