Moodle Mobile App

The Coastal Office of Online Learning is excited to announce that the official Moodle Mobile App is now supported for all 2019 courses.

Moodle Mobile

Moodle’s mobile experience provides users with either iOS or Android a streamlined app environment for course navigation, communication, and management. Starting today, students and faculty may browse course content, while either online or offline, through the mobile app. Messages and push notifications are available for teacher-to-student, student-to-student, and student-to-teacher interactions.

The Moodle app provides faculty with new messaging possibilities for their courses. Through the “messaging” portion of the app, faculty can send direct messages to their students, similarly to how social media integrates messaging functionalities through apps such as Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Likewise, students can create messages and send them to Coastal users through the Moodle mobile app. If mobile users have push notifications enabled, phones will automatically notify students and faculty when new messages are posted.

To login to Moodle through the mobile app, start by downloading the app from the Google Play Store  or Apple App Store. Once installed, open the app and enter when prompted to enter your institution’s web URL. The app will send you to your Office365 login screen, where you will enter your CCU credentials via two-factor authentication. Once logged in, you will see your 2019 courses that can be navigated and managed through the app.

If you have any questions about the Moodle Mobile App, please reach out to Steven Sargent.

NOTE: Students are discouraged from completing quizzes and exams on the app due to the possibility of dropped connections, intermittent wifi or cellular service, and other potential technical and security concerns that may impact student completion of graded quizzes and exams.
