Creating Your Project Budget
Whether you have a list of possible expenditures, a draft worksheet, or need to brainstorm types of costs, the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Services is available to assist you in creating your project budget.
The budget is the Principal Investigator's (PI) best estimate of the total cost to complete the objectives identified in the proposal. Categories of expenditures can include, but are not limited to:
- Salaries and wages
- Fringe benefits
- Consultants and other contractual services
- Subcontracts and subawards
- Tuition assistance
- Participant costs
- Equipment rental or purchase
- F&A (indirect costs)
- Cost sharing or matching funds
