Mountain Bike Rides Mondays @ 3pm
Join us at the HTC Outdoor Center for Weekly Mountain Bike Rides. Lead by our Trip Leaders, participants will ride 7-8 miles including single and double track trails of the Waccamaw Wildlife Refuge. No registration necessary. Bring your own bike or rent from us at no charge.
Paddle Party, Wednesday January 31st @ 6pm
Paddle (Paddleboard or Kayak) with us on our 2–Hour Waccamaw River Tour through the peaceful and wild swamps of the low country in Downtown Conway as we enjoy nightlife on the river. Please note participants must provide their own transportation to the river. $10.
S’Mores with Outdoors, Friday February 2nd @ 7pm
Come hang out with CCU Outdoor Center staff while we roast up some s'mores around a fire pit. Free. Tradition Hall.
Carolina Beach State Park Camping & Hiking Trip, Fri-Sun Feb 9-11th
Ever dreamed of camping at the beach? Join us on a two day camping & hiking trip in the Wilmington, NC area. The surrounding area boasts access to the Cape Fear River, fishing, hiking and beautiful scenery. Transportation will leave campus at 3pm on Friday, and return around noon on Sunday. Price includes camping site and transportation. Food will be up to the individual.
Climb for the Cure Thursday, August 31st @ 4pm
Join us at the HTC Student Rec Center Climbing Wall for competitions, games, prizes and snacks to raise awareness for Heart Health Month. New climbers welcome! All equipment provided. No registration necessary. Free.
New Moon Kayak Trip, Thursday October 5th @ 6pm

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Pittsburg Penguins NHL game, Friday, February 23rd
Join us for a road trip up to Raleigh, NC and cheer on your hockey team with other Chanticleers! Transportation provided to and from CCU. Bus leaves at 2:30pm.
Paddleboard Workshop, Saturday, February 24th @ 10am
1.5-Hour Paddleboard Workshop on the Waccamaw River in Downtown Conway. Great for beginners, the Waccamaw River is an easy place to learn how to use a Stand-up Paddleboard in flat, calm waters. Please note participants must provide their own transportation to the river. $10.
Rock the Wall, Wednesday, March 14th @ 4pm
Join us at the HTC Student Rec Center Climbing Wall for competitions, games, prizes and snacks. New climbers welcome! All equipment provided. No registration necessary. Free.
Murrells Inlet Marshwalk Kayak Tour, Saturday March 24th @ 10am-2pm
We invite you to enjoy a scenic paddle through the Murrells Inlet tidal marsh and enjoy the vast wildlife of Murrells Inlet! Pack your lunch and eat along the way. We will bring your kayak and gear to the launch and you must bring yourself. $20 per person.
Smokey Mountains Whitewater Camp & Hike, March 30-April 1st
Join us on a two day camping, hiking and whitewater trip in the North Carolina Mountains (Asheville, NC are). Price includes group camping site at Hot Springs Resort, transportation and guided whitewater trip through Hot Springs Rafting Co. Food will be up to the individual.
The surrounding national forest boasts mile-high peaks, cascading waterfalls and slopes thickly forested with hardwoods. You won’t want to miss out on this trip!
Ride & Dine Downtown Conway
Join with CCU Outdoors as we bike to Downtown Conway from Campus and eat at Bonfire A Smokin' Taqueria. Participants assume cost of food. Advanced registration required.
Waites Island Kayak Adventure Saturday, April 21st @ 10am
Paddle with us on a 3.5 hour Waites Island kayak tour through a beautiful marsh to the untouched beaches of Waites Island, an island only accessible by boat. Pack your own lunch and eat on the island. $20, transportation provided. Space is limited.
Hulk Mountain Bike Ride (TBD)
Participants will ride a 7 mile loop around the Carolina Forest Bike and Run Park (commonly known as ‘The Hulk’). Trails at the Hulk are for moderate to experienced mountain bikers. Bring your own bike or use one of ours and meet us there! Register to reserve your bike. Free.
