Time: | 0215 | Officer: | Cavallini | Type: | Traffic stop - possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm | Location: | Hwy. 544 and Singleton Ridge Road | Description: | A CCU DPS officer observed the subject vehicle being driven in an unsafe manner and stopped the vehicle to investigate. The driver was interviewed and during the interview the officer was able to observe the odor of burnt marijuana and a trace amount of marijuana in the vehicle. The driver admitted to using marijuana. During a search of the vehicle a handgun and a controlled substance were located. A passenger admitted to possessing the handgun and the pills. The passenger was taken into custody and transported to the Horry County Detention Center. Warrants will be sought for the charges in this incident. Warrants were obtained and served later the same day. |
