The driver was interviewed and during the interview the officer observed the odor of marijuana. The driver admitted to using marijuana earlier in the day and stated they did not have anything illegal in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle and its occupants marijuana and a handgun were discovered. The contraband was seized. One of the passengers claimed responsibility for the marijuana and the handgun. A records check showed this passenger was not allowed to possess a handgun. The driver was issued a citation and released. The passenger was taken into custody and transported to the Horry County Detention Center with a hold for warrants. |
