CCU DPS officers attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle finally stopped in the parking lot of Carolina Pines apartments and the driver fled on foot. A CCU DPS officer pursued and was able to take the subject into custody. The subject admitted to not stopping and that they had been consuming alcohol. The officer requested that the driver attempt SFSTs. The driver was not able to successfully complete the SFSTs. The driver was transported to a breath testing facility. The driver refused to provide a breath sample. The driver was issued a citation and transported to the Horry County Detention Center. The vehicle was towed. A warrant will be sought for failure to stop for blue lights. |
