I love Coastal, just like I love my high school and my hometown. Coastal is a part of my life and it’ll be a part of me forever.

What has been your favorite moment at CCU?

When I won the ODK underclassman leader of the year award. I was granted a $1,000 scholarship that was awarded by Dr. Holley Tankersley.

Austin, you work in the dean of students’ office. What do you like most about working there?

The diversity of the work that I am involved in. I work on school spirit, conduct cases, which force me to broaden my thought process, to think critically.

How is Coastal different from your typical university?

CCU is not the largest school, so you’re not just a number, and it’s not the smallest school where you would know everyone on campus. Therefore, it forces you to get to know people each and every day, but at the same time, you feel like you part of a community.

 What is your favorite quote?

“When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you’ll be successful.” – Eric Thomas, author, The Secret to Success

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

I see myself just finishing law school, hopefully working for a law firm. If not, doing the JAG program for the Air Force. Trying to start my career and my family.”

Do you have anything to add?

I love Coastal, just like I love my high school and my hometown. Coastal is a part of my life and it’ll be a part of me forever.
