Under Daniel Williams, she published her research regarding neurodegeneration and received second place in the oral presentation category of the Undergraduate Research Competition at CCU and first place in the cell biology poster session at the South Carolina Academy of Science in 2015.

Lyndsay E.A. Young, from Lexington, Kentucky, is a marine science and biology double major. She was a member of the women’s club volleyball team at Coastal Carolina University and served as team president for three years. Young worked as a lab technician and teaching assistant in the Department of Biology for Tyani Wu and Fang Ju Lin. Under Daniel Williams, she published her research regarding neurodegeneration and received second place in the oral presentation category of the Undergraduate Research Competition at CCU and first place in the cell biology poster session at the South Carolina Academy of Science in 2015. Upon graduation, Young will continue her research in the biology department for the summer and will pursue a master’s degree in genetic counseling in the coming years.
