Mission & Vision Statements
Fraternity and Sorority Life is one of several departments within the Office of Student Activities and Leadership (OSAL). Currently, the FSL department provides the CCU Fraternity/Sorority community with professional advisement, support, educational programming, and advocacy. In addition, the Fraternity and Sorority Life staff directly advises all three governing councils and a variety of student committees, planning teams, and leadership programs. We are located in the Student Activities central office on the second floor of the Lib Jackson Student Center, suite 215.
As a community, Coastal Carolina University Fraternity and Sorority Life is home to 15 (inter)national fraternities and sororities with approximately 700 members and 9% of the full-time undergraduate population. We strive to create a values-based collegiate experience for undergraduates consisting of academic pursuits, leadership and social development, cultural awareness, and service to others. One of our central goals is to create a "home away from home" for our students within each organization, within the three governing councils, and throughout the entire community."
Coastal Carolina University's community of fraternities and sororities strives to provide members with the tools necessary to become the leaders of tomorrow through brotherhood/sisterhood. Fraternity and Sorority membership advances the mission of the University to develop productive, responsible, healthy citizens. While individually unique in scholarship, leadership, community service and social interaction, each chapter and council embraces diversity and promotes high standards of excellence.
