Short-Term Study Abroad Program Application

***The application cycle for 2016-17 Short-Term Study Abroad Program is now closed for most programs. If you are interested in participating the Coastal in Tuscany, Japanese Religion & Art, or the Culture & Education Maymester programs, please reach out to Darcy Coughlan at dcoughlan@coastal.edu to see if the programs are accepting applicants.***


***The 2017-18 Short-Term Study Abroad programs will be announced at the end of April 2017. The application cycle and requirements will be similar to those listed below. Please check back for more information. ***

To learn more about each short-term program, students need to visit: https://ccu-sa.terradotta.com/. Students can either do a Program Search or click on the link on the upper left hand side that says "Short-Term Faculty Led Programs" for a list of all the programs available. 

To complete an application, students will need to complete the online application and submit the following documents:

  • Passport Color Copy (Students must have a valid passport or have applied for a passport by application deadline)
  • $25 non-refundable application fee confirmation
  • $300 deposit confirmation
  • Program Evaluation or Mid-Term Evaluations (Freshmen only)
  • Statement of Purpose  

Passports

Students will be required to have a valid passport at the time of applicaiton or show proof that they have already submitted their application. That said, students are strongly encouraged to apply for a new passport now if they do not already have one.  

Applying for a new passport can take 6 weeks or longer if an in-person interview is required. If you have a passport and plan on applying to the 2016-17 application cycle, please check to make sure the passport is valid and does not expire before December 2017.

Eligibility for CCU Faculty-Led Short Term Programs

To be considered for admission to CCU’s Short-Term Study Abroad programs, students must be in good academic standing, meet the course prerequisites, and hold a cumulative collegiate GPA of at least a 2.5 at the time of application.

New freshmen interested in study abroad must have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative high school GPA, and new transfer students must have a minimum cumulative collegiate GPA of 2.5. 

Several of the programs have additional eligibility requirements. Students are encouraged to visit the program’s webpage and reach out to the program leaders for more information.
