John Brong Campus Planting Day

We are proud to announce that Thursday, April 21, will serve as the inaugural John Brong Campus Planting Day at Blanton Park, in front of the Edward M. Singleton building. On this day, our community will come together for a day of service to honor the life of the late John Brong, who served as the CCU greenhouse manager for nearly 20 years.

During his time at CCU, John worked tirelessly to nurture, grow, and plant thousands of beautiful flowers and trees on our campus. Prior to his passing in October 2021, John spoke regularly about his vision for a planting event, where all members of the CCU community could get outside, smell the flowers, play in the dirt, make new friends, and give back to a place that we cherish. We hope you will join us to honor John's vision for our beloved campus.

There are three opportunities to participate: 9-10am, 11am-12pm, or 1-2pm. Please register for your preferred session here. All supplies will be provided.

Prior to planting, we will honor John with a few remarks, followed by a brief tutorial to get you started. We encourage all to attend. Invite your colleagues, friends, and family to join us for some fun in the sun, in memory of John.
