Is there a charge for your services?
We do not require chargebacks for the services that we offer.
How far in advance should I submit a Kace ticket?
We ask you submit a ticket as far out as you know of your project, even if it is six months away. Ideally two weeks is a normal time frame we work with and anything less than that we may have to turn down because of scheduling or availability.
What can I expect when I get there for my headshot?
We have a specially dedicated studio that we take headshots in and able to photograph on a gray backdrop which are done one person at a time. We have a very small selection of men’s and women’s tops, blazers, and ties if you are unable to provide your own attire. We have a dressing room and mirrors for your convenience to get ready at the studio if needed. If your headshot is on location you will need to arrive ready to have your photo taken. You will have the ability to select your desired image, we take that and lightly retouch and share the final product via e-mail and Photoshelter.
How do I set up headshots for my department?
We love to do a group of people at a time and this helps with scheduling. Before you submit a ticket, please find a time that will work for your office and include the number of people attending. If you have a large department you may request for multiple dates. Please allow five-ten minutes per person in the time you are requesting.
What do I wear for my headshot?
Please dress appropriately for your office or department. In general, dark solid colors work best. Please avoid white, unless under a jacket and also very light-colored jackets, tank tops, or sleeveless tops, stripes, checks, or plaids, but adding a splash of teal is always a nice touch. We have a very small selection of men’s and women’s tops, blazers, and ties if you are unable to provide your own attire. We have a dressing room and mirrors for your convenience to get ready at the studio if needed.
How do I set up Group photos?
Find a time that works best for your department and submit a ticket. Depending on the location you desire we may make suggestions based on the size of the group or time of day.
When can I expect to see my images?
Our normal turnaround time is 48 hours, but certain times of year may require a longer turnaround. Please inform us of any specific timely needs on your ticket.
Where can I find photos for presentations, brochures, or my website?
Please use our photo share site Photoshelter to find a stock gallery of images from around campus that you are more than welcome to use for approved CCU materials and digital media outlets.
Can I use my images outside of CCU affiliated material?
If you wish to use an image for anything outside of CCU we ask you make a request through University Marketing and Communication explaining the use of the imagery since everything is owned and copyrighted by the university.
When do I need a media release form?
Media release forms are required when a student or small group of students are prominently recognizable and used for advertising, marketing, and recruitment purposes. CCU Media Release
My son/daughter is on one of the athletic teams, how do I download their images?
The photography department does not share images of athletes. Any question regarding imagery of athletes should be directed to athletics.
How do I download photos?
You may download images from our photo share site Photoshelter. A complete guide about logging in and downloading can be found on our Photoshelter Step by Step Guide. We also have multiple stock image galleries for use on CCU approved print materials and social outlets. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please fill out a request form and we will be happy to create a special gallery for you.
I’m a student, may I have my headshot taken?
If you are in a club, organization, honor society, or academic program, please inquire with your advisor to submit a ticket on your behalf to have a photo taken to be used for conferences, internships, or use on Linkedin.
I’m the organization president for a club, can I request a photographer?
Please ask your advisor to submit a ticket on your behalf and we will always do our best to accommodate your needs.
You took my photo in the stands at the game this weekend, can I have that?
We are not in a position to share certain photographs that we take for the university. Those that we can share, we set up galleries of events, award ceremonies, commencement, and convocations and make those galleries open to students to view and download. We do the same for scheduled headshots and group photographs. Athletic event images and images taken for marketing purposes we do not share.
Can you explain CCU’s copyright laws?
All imagery found in print or in digital format is solely owned by Coastal Carolina University and cannot be sold, traded, or manipulated without the written permission of the university.
