A Message from the Director
Thank you for your interest in the Wall Fellows program. The program is a highly selective leadership development program, comprised of a combination of coursework, individual reading and studying, professional internships, leadership training, project execution, and character-building opportunities. The content of the program is designed to supplement your regular academic coursework. Additionally, the program focuses on developing social competency skills and cultural literacy, which will be important ingredients in how you begin to understand the professional opportunities and challenges that await you as you prepare to enter the job market after graduation.
Any student from Coastal Carolina University who has at least 54 credit hours and at least two years remaining on campus is eligible to apply for the Wall Fellows program.
Although the program is open to all students, the Wall Fellows program is not for everyone and you will need to investigate the program to ensure that the program is a good fit for you. It is a challenging and demanding program that requires a great deal of “out of the classroom” time. In the words of Jesse Owens, “We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” Although there is much expected of a Wall Fellow, the benefits you will receive will impact the rest of your life. You will develop a personal mission statement and resume. Your resume will then become a realistic, working document that enables you to systematically implement your career and lifetime plans. If admitted, you will likely leave the program, agreeing with other classes of Wall Fellows, that it was one of the best experiences of your college career.
As the director, I am available to discuss the program further and answer any additional questions. Feel free to stop by the Wall Fellows office in Wall 313 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
