Sex Offender Information

In South Carolina sex offenders may be required to register with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) through the local jurisdiction where they live or work.

To assist you in finding this important information Coastal Carolina University provides a link to the state website where the information can be accessed. Currently this information is available through SLED at the website scor.sled.sc.gov.

When you click through you will land on the conditions of use page which will require you to agree to their conditions before proceeding. After agreeing you will be taken to a confirmation page and you will have to enter the code to proceed. Once past the confirmation page you will be able to access the information.

You will see six buttons across the top of the page. These buttons will allow you to; search by geographic area, search by name, set up and remove community notifications, read the FAQs, access further resources and email SLED questions.

The geographic search allows you to search the database by address and a radius of area around the address or by zip code. The results come up as a map with icons for the offenders and an alphabetical list of offenders. The icons on the map give the name and address of the offender associated with that address and whether it is a residence or employment address. For further information about the offender you can click on their name in the alphabetical list.

The name search allows you to search the database by name. The results will again come up as a map with icons and the alphabetical list of offenders.
