MCJ 100: Commercial Music and Jazz Masterclass (0). This is a weekly meeting for all MCJ and pre-MCJ music performance majors. Students participate in faculty and guest-artist lecturers, as well as MCJ ensemble performances. This course may be repeatable up to 8 times. F, S.

Justification For Request

What research has led to this request?

This is a course that has been run under the MUS 100 - Recital Hour course designation for the past 3 years. Each semester, students who need to be in this course are registering only for the first section of Recital Hour, while non-MCJ majors register for this section instead of the original Recital Hour section. By creating a separate course designation, we hope to remove the extra work of roster checking that is falling on faculty and staff advisers each semester.
