Justification For Request

What research has led to this request?

The proposed changes follow from a year of internal discussions amongst PACS teaching and affiliated faculty. They steer toward current course offerings and reflect a broadened sensitivity to the curricular contributions that different departments make toward peace and conflict studies. These changes also accord with Dean Claudia Bornholdt's desire to make the PACS curriculum more interdisciplinary.

What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?

As the new PACS minor grows at a rate of one new student per month, we do not foresee a significant impact on any program. In fact, the addition of new course options (none are required) reduces the impact on any one unit.

What financial costs are associated with this request?

none

If NO change in cost is anticipated, how is this possible?

All course are already offered or are new courses slated to be taught. All are added to a list of options (foundation, thematic, and topical) none are required.
