Justification For Request

What research has led to this request?

As a department we decided to split or three credit senior seminar course Math 490 to two parts Math 390 (2 credits) and Math 490 (1 credit). This will reduce the stress of students during their senior year. This way the students will be able to focus presentation skills in Math 390 and research in their Math 490 class. We also would like to CSCI 140 with CSCI 135 as Computer Science department is planning on not offering CSCI 140 in the future. CSCI 135 should still give a similar experience to our students.

What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?

The changes will not affect other programs.

What financial costs are associated with this request?

None

If NO change in cost is anticipated, how is this possible?

We are splitting an existing course in two parts with same total number of credit hours. This does not change the teaching loads.
