This is an old course that is not listed in the current catalog. Please restore this to the catalog as it is now active. The repeatability is requested because, like other ensembles, this ensemble will be of the same type (here, a woodwind ensemble), but will play different repertoire each semester. Thus, although the number will be repeated, the content will change every time it is offered. We expect students studying woodwind instruments to be able to play in this ensemble as often as their schedule permits. We are asking for variable credit (0-1) so that the student may be able to take this course without incurring an overload. Other ensembles that we offer feature the same option.

Justification For Request

What research has led to this request?

The ensembles listed under MUS130 are designed as 0-1 variable credit and the ability to repeat courses for credit. We thought MUS130D had these features as well, but we were informed by the registrar's office that it did not.

What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?

This does not change credits to any degree. This gives students additional options in their course selections.

What financial costs are associated with this request?

None.

If NO change in cost is anticipated, how is this possible?

Changing the hours to variable credit and allowing repeatability does not impact cost.
