Welcome future Chant Scarlett Grace Page!

CCU alumnus and alumna David and Jennifer Page welcomed baby girl Scarlett Grace Page after evacuating from Hurricane Florence. Scarlett was born on Sept. 16, 2018, in Knoxville, Tenn., weighing 6 lbs. and 9 oz., measuring 20 in. 

Scarlett was due on Sept. 17, but Jennifer's doctor advised the pair to evacuate somewhere with a guaranteed open hospital for a safe delivery. Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, where Jennifer planned to deliver Scarlett, evacuated during the storm. This led the Page family to the Smokey Mountains at UT Medical Center. 

While Scarlett was techinicaly a Volunteer for the day, Jennifer expresses her love for the Chanticleers, sharing that her family bleeds teal. "We can't wait for our future Chant to grow up in teal territory," Jennifer said.

Jennifer earned a BAE in 2011, while David earned a BA in 2014 and MAT in 2018. David is the high school band director at Andrews High School in Georgetown, and Jennifer teaches second grade at Green Sea Floyds Elementary School.
