New dean for Edwards College announced

Claudia Bornholdt, Ph.D., has accepted the position of dean of Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

Bornholdt is currently the endowed Walburg Chair of German Language and Literature at the Catholic University of America. She holds a Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literatures, Medieval Studies, and Historical Linguistics from Indiana University Bloomington.

Bornholdt has served as chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, acting dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, interim director of Islamic World Studies, and director of European Studies. Her appointment will be effective July 16, 2019.
