Online journal Waccamaw is now up

The sixth issue of Waccamaw, the online literary journal published at CCU, is now up for viewing. You can find the new issue here: http://www.waccamawjournal.com.

Waccamaw continues to develop a presence in the world of contemporary literature.  In the past six months, the journal has averaged 159 visitors per day, and during our last six-week open reading period, we received more than 200 unsolicited submissions from as nearby as Charleston and as far away as New Zealand.

In addition to fine creative nonfiction, fiction and poetry by such authors as Billy O’Callaghan, Jennifer Spiegel, Joey Franklin, Amy Monticello, Stuart Dischell, Jesse Lee Kercheval and others, you will also find in issue six a special feature on Natasha Trethewey, winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, including a transcript of Trethewey’s 2010 Distinguished Faculty Lecture at Emory University and a fascinating, in-depth interview conducted by the English Department’s own Daniel Cross Turner.  Here is a direct link to the interview: http://www.waccamawjournal.com/pages.html?x=324.
