Faculty evaluations go online

Each semester students at Coastal Carolina University are given the opportunity to evaluate their professors and provide feedback. In the past this has been accomplished with paper surveys administered by the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Analysis. This semester, however, all evaluations will be completed online.

This change stems from an effort to expedite the faculty evaluation process for students and to make the turnaround for results more efficient. Going online is also a giant step in aiding the campus sustainability initiative -- last year alone more than 84,000 faculty evaluations were printed and processed on campus.

The process to access faculty evaluations is simple. Students will receive an email specific to their courses and will access the evaluations through the included link. Regular Fall courses began to be evaluated beginning Nov. 11; Fall II will begin on November 29. Students can be assured that their responses will continue to be anonymous and no identifying information will be captured. All evaluations will be available through Dec. 5.

Any questions regarding the new process should be directed to irsurvey@coastal.edu.
