Feel the Teal: Leading the Way

Feel the Teal is about building the culture of civility and sense of community among Coastal Carolina University’s faculty, staff, students, alumni and all other stakeholders. This mission is accomplished by providing the infrastructure and service training needed to ensure a productive, supportive and enlightened workforce.

CCU has been at the forefront of the charge to provide superior customer service, the results and reputation of our program are being noticed. Other universities and colleges have reached out to Director of Service Excellence Eileen Soisson with interest and inquiries about Feel the Teal. In fact, an interested college will be visiting campus in the near future to discuss possible collaborations. With the spotlight on our customer service methods, we must be diligent in our efforts to deliver service excellence in all of our interactions at Coastal Carolina University. I know that our faculty and staff will show the same courtesy and respect to these visitors as is demonstrated here on a daily basis between all University constituents.

We continue to offer Feel the Teal service training modules to all of our employees. These professional development workshops provide training and fuel discussion in the areas of service basics, attitude, civility, University history and traditions, difficult situations on the job, and personal accountability. We have asked employees to not only participate in the workshops, but also to implement the service concepts and strategies in their everyday interactions on campus. I have seen and heard how the training concepts are impacting our culture, and I am proud to hear people say they “feel the teal.” I strongly encourage anyone who represents Coastal Carolina University and has yet to attend the six current modules to sign up today and take advantage of the opportunity to benefit from this vital instruction.

Feel the Teal is about positively contributing to our service-focused culture here at CCU and celebrating those individuals and instances that illustrate the values that we champion. We are leading the way in understanding the importance of adopting the methods needed to provide exceptional customer service. Our success is due to those who consistently provide quality experiences on behalf of CCU and who exemplify what it means to Feel the Teal every day.
