Dean Rice's son gets married

Singer/songwriter Jesse Rice was married to Kendra Davies on March 12, 2016, at the Jekyll Island Inn and Resort.

"They [the couple] have known each other and dated on and off since 2007," says Nelljean Rice, mother of the groom. "They met when their eyes locked across a crowded bar room in Nashville. My grandson Luke Carney and the bride's nephew Cade Davies were the flower boys, and her nephew Quinn Davies was the ring-bearer."

Rice is a singer/songwriter, following in the footsteps of his father, the late poet and CCU professor Paul Rice, who was on the Coastal Carolina University faculty from 1987 to 2004 and who was also a gifted songwriter and singer. Nelljean Rice is dean of University College.

Jessie Rice moved to Nashville in 2002, where he is a multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter and producer. He wrote the No. 1 hit country song “Cruise,” recorded by Florida-Georgia Line and remixed by Nelly. Originally from Conway,
