Campus construction continues during summer

Here's the latest on campus construction.

Academic Office/Classroom Building iI

The Academic Office/Classroom Building II, located adjacent to the Wall College of Business, is getting the final touches prior to move-in. The 52,000-square-foot facility is located next to the Wall Building and will provide 100 faculty and administration staff offices, ITS office and space, and 15 classrooms ranging in size from 25 to 35 seats. Substantial completion has been achieved, punch work is ongoing, and furniture has been ordered. The building will be available for classes this fall semester.

Kearns Hall roof replacement

Work has begun to replace the existing slate roof on Kearns Hall with composite slate tiles. The original slate roofing has been removed. Shingle installation began on Tuesday, June 13.

Early Childhood Development/Kingston Hall

Work continues on plans with an architect to upgrade Kingston Hall per building code and Department of Social Services requirements for a new early childhood development and literacy program on campus.

Brooks Stadium

This project involves constructing approximately 12,000 square feet in facilities and amenities, including a new hospitality suite, restrooms, concessions and bleachers. The budget is $31.8 million, and final completion is estimated for September 2019.

Phase I construction started on March 6. The first phase is set to be completed by Sept. 2 and will include adding seats to both corners of the end zone nearest to the Adkins Field House, expanding the sections closest to the field on both sides towards the scoreboard and expanding the upper deck on the east side to match the length of the lower deck.
