Coastal Carolina University (CCU) has named Barnes & Noble College as the new operator of its campus bookstore known as the Chanticleer Store. The transition will take effect Thursday, July 7.

The Chanticleer Store will offer a variety of affordable course materials, including an in-store and online rental textbook program; an extensive selection of used, new and digital textbooks; and a new price-matching program. Students also will be able to purchase their learning materials well in advance of the start of classes.

In addition to a variety of cost-saving textbook options, CCU students will enjoy a campus bookstore that reflects the University's unique brand. This will include an expanded selection of Chanticleer and Teal Nation logo apparel, general subject books, school supplies, health and beauty products, snacks and beverages, laptops and other technology products, as well as gift items.

Barnes & Noble College will create and manage Coastal Carolina University's online bookstore website, delivering an innovative, customized shopping experience, and providing students, faculty and alumni the choice and convenience of shopping in-store or online. CCU faculty also will gain access to an online community called FacultyEnlight (www.facultyenlight.com), a streamlined textbook adoption platform that combines advanced search capabilities with detailed information on course material formats, pricing and reviews by other faculty.

"We are very proud to be partnering with Coastal Carolina University," said Patrick Maloney, president of Barnes & Noble College. "We are looking forward to offering the campus community an outstanding retail experience, a multitude of resources, innovative technologies and an array of course material offerings that will support CCU's students and faculty."

Coastal Carolina University is one of 14 higher education institutions with which Barnes & Noble College partners in the state of South Carolina, including Clemson University, University of South Carolina, Furman University, the College of Charleston and Horry Georgetown Technical College.
