Paula Daniels Drummond has been named Director of Residence Life at Coastal Carolina University, effective Jan. 18.

Lynn Willett, Coastal’s vice president for student affairs, announced Drummond’s appointment, citing her residence life experience at several campuses, including Peace College and Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., and North Carolina State University.

Drummond earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and a master’s degree in education from North Carolina State. She is presently working on her doctorate from NCSU.

As Residence Life director, Drummond will supervise a staff of 15 professionals and support personnel, and approximately 60 resident assistants. Coastal’s housing facilities accommodate 2,200 students during the fall and spring semesters and numerous conferences and special events during the summer months. Drummond’s office will be located in the Residence Life main office in Waccamaw Hall.

Pat Singleton-Young has been serving as interim director of Residence Life during the past six months.
