Pianist Gary Stegall performs at Coastal Carolina

Pianist Gary Stegall will perform a recital on Sunday, April 3 at 4 p.m. at Coastal Carolina University. The recital is free and open to the public.

A Coastal music professor and worldwide performer, Stegall celebrates the 100th year of the composition of Maurice Ravel’s masterpiece, “Miroirs.” Also included on the program will be the monumental Schumann “F-sharp minor sonata.”

The concert will be in the Recital Hall in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

Stegall has performed throughout the U.S., Europe, Canada and Egypt, having given solo piano recitals at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London; the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.; the American Church in Paris; and the Dame Myra Hess Series at the Chicago Cultural Center.

As a chamber musician, he has performed at Piccolo Spoleto and as a guest artist with the dePasquale String Quartet of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has appeared as a solo artist with orchestras including the Los Angeles Solo Repertory Orchestra, the Washington Metropolitan Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony, Long Bay Symphony and others. He is also music director at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church in Pawleys Island.
