CCU speaker to lecture on mergers and acquisitions

A Citigroup executive will give a presentation on mergers and acquisitions Thursday, April 21 at 10 a.m. in the Wall Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. The lecture, which is part of the Wall Center for Excellence Speaker Series, is free and open to the public.

Sandra Brittian will discuss the strategies involved in today's environment of mergers and acquisitions integration. She is senior vice president and area director for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures integrations at Citigroup Corporate Operations and Technology in New York. She also owns her own consulting company, Brittagne LLC, specializing in risk management and regulatory examination readiness for financial services companies.

Prior to being involved with the M&A group, Brittian was the co-head of the Citigroup Technology Infrastructure's Global Business Office, and the chief of staff to the global head of Distributed Systems Support and Operations with global oversight of an $880 million annual budget and more than10,000 employees. Her career with Citigroup started as a director in Audit and Risk Review in the Project Risk Review (PRR) division.

Before joining Citigroup, she worked as a commissioned senior level national bank examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (U.S. Department of Treasury) for 14 years. She is a Certified Risk Professional (CRP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). She earned a bachelor's degree in economics and finance from University of Louisiana-Monroe.
