Coastal Carolina University Fall Homecoming Schedule

Coastal Carolina University has a variety of activities planned for Homecoming Thursday, Oct. 27 to Sunday, Oct. 30. The following events are open to the public.

Tuesday, Oct. 25

7 p.m.

Edwards Recital Hall

“MTV Real World” cast member Ruthie Edwards shares her experiences from “Real World”

Thursday, Oct. 27

Homecoming Stepshow

7 p.m.

Myrtle Beach High School

CCU students show off their stepping talents.

Friday, Oct. 28

Alumni/ Chanticleer Club Golf Tournament

11 a.m. (Registration begins)

Shotgun Start Noon

Quail Creek Golf Club

Play on Coastal Carolina University’s newly acquired Quail Creek Golf Club. Tournament fee includes a gift bag, box lunch, beverages, mulligan, range balls, putting contest and an entry drawing for great prizes. An alumni cookout will immediately follow the golf tournament on the Quail Creek clubhouse deck. Four-person team, captain’s choice format with prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive for both men and women, best Greek alumni organization team, best alumni athletic team and overall team. If playing as a single, you will be paired with another player on tournament day.

Tournament fee is $125 for individual players and $600 for a corporate team of 4 players.

Noon to 5 p.m.

Lawn between Singleton Building and Student Center

A carnival-like festival with palm-readers, cotton candy, hot dogs, games and more. A prize will be given for the best Halloween costume.

Pep Rally

5:15 p.m.

Student Center Deck

Join Coach David Bennett and the Chanticleer football team for a rally to prepare for the game against Virginia Military Institute, led by the sounds of The Spirit of the Chanticleer Marching Band and the CCU cheerleaders. Also, meet the members and nominees of the Homecoming court. Free hot dogs and drinks.

“Parade” – A musical

7:30 p.m.

Wheelwright Auditorium

Coastal Carolina University Theatre presents “Parade,” the tragic, true story of the trial and lynching of a man wrongly accused of murder which has been adapted into a Tony-award winning musical.

Saturday, Oct. 29

President’s Cup 5K Homecoming Race

6:30 a.m. (registration begins)

7:30 a.m. (race begins)

Williams-Brice Recreation Center

Participants may pre-register at the reduced rate of $10 until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28. The fee on race day is $15. T-shirts and race numbers will be at the Student Recreation Center front desk on race morning.

Chant Walk

10:15 a.m.

Athletic Administrative Building

Cheer on the Chanticleer football team during the “Chant Walk” down the sidewalk between the Athletic Administrative Building and Brooks Stadium.

Spirit Display Competition

Noon

Students develop a display centered around the Homecoming theme, “Dream big.. do it big!” Displays are located on the lawn between Singleton and the Student Center Deck.

Football: Coastal vs. VMI

12:30 p.m.

Brooks Stadium

Watch the Chanticleers take on VMI. Homecoming half-time activities include recognition of class agent gifts and crowning of Homecoming king and queen. Preferred tickets are $20, reserved tickets are $15 and general seats are $10.

Men’s Soccer: Coastal vs. VMI

6 p.m.

Soccer Stadium

Watch Coastal’s men’s soccer team face VMI. Admission is $5; tickets can be purchased at the game.

Women’s Volleyball: Coastal vs. UNC-Asheville

7 p.m.

Kimbel Arena

Watch Coastal’s women’s volleyball team face University of North Carolina-Asheville.

Admission is free.

7:30 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 30

Women’s Volleyball: Coastal vs. Birmingham Southern

2 p.m.

Kimbel Arena

Watch Coastal’s women’s volleyball team take on Birmingham Southern. Admission is free.
