Coastal Carolina Universitys Division of Academic Outreach offers three orientation/open houses for the new term of Lifelong Learning courses.

The first orientation is Jan. 9, 2006, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center in Litchfield. The second will be Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Georgetown Higher Education Center. The third is on the Conway campus at University Hall on Thursday, Jan. 12 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Nearly 200 short courses in art, photography, computer technology, philosophy, religion, literature, writing, music, theater and film, history and politics, foreign languages, science and nature, and personal growth and skill development have been planned. Lifelong Learning classes are open to anyone who lives in the area either full or part-time with a desire to learn. Classes are administered by Coastals Division of Academic Outreach through its three campuses.

At the orientation/open houses, prospective Lifelong Learners can view facilities, meet instructors, enjoy refreshments and attend mini-workshops and sample classes. Professor Ed Williams of TraveLearn will be presenting a free program on China: The Economic Miracle at 2 p.m. at both the Waccamaw and Georgetown centers.

Students may register at the orientations and receive their ID cards and parking permits.
