Coastal Carolina University's Division of Extended Learning
and
Public Services is offering courses for professional counselors in two
convenient formats. Internet-based courses and Saturday seminars will
provide continuing education credits which will apply toward licensure
and re-certification. The registration fee for each course is $55.
Internet-based courses combine the World Wide Web and audio
teleconferencing. The following courses will be offered:
- Narrative Approaches in Counseling Women and Girls - Nov. 3 to 22;
Required conference calls: Mondays, Nov. 6, 13 and 20 from 5:30 to 6:30
p.m.
- The Elusive Eating Disorders - Nov. 26 to Dec. 16; Required
conference calls: Thursdays, Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and 14 from 5:30 to 6:30
p.m.
The Internet-based courses provide eight hours of continuing
education. Course material may be accessed from any location equipped
with a World Wide Web browser. Registered participants will be provided
with a toll-free number for the one-hour telephone conference calls
which are scheduled once each week during each course. The unique
course delivery format has been designed to provide flexible
instruction for counselors who work full time.
Saturday seminars will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in
Coastal's Wall Building. Each course will provide six contact hours of
continuing education.

- Innovative Treatments for Adolescent and Childhood Disorders -
November 11
- Secrets to Successful Aging - December 2
