Pianist Gary Stegall, associate professor of music at Coastal Carolina University, will give the final concert in a complete cycle of the Mozart piano sonatas on Tuesday, Dec. 5, the anniversary of the composer's death. The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal.

The event, the last of four recitals commemorating the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth, is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets must be picked up from the Wheelwright Box Office Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Stegall will perform four works: the Sonata in A minor, K. 310, composed in Paris in 1778 when Mozart was 22; the Sonata in F Major, K. 533/494, movements I & II (K. 533), composed in Vienna in 1788, and movement III (K. 494), composed in 1786; the Sonata in C minor, K. 457, composed in Vienna in 1784; and the Sonata in D Major, K. 576, composed in Vienna in 1789. Stegall has performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Asia and Africa, as well as at the Vatican. As a chamber musician, he has performed at Piccolo Spoleto and as a guest artist with the dePasquale String Quartet of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has appeared as a solo artist with orchestras including the Los Angeles Solo Repertory Orchestra, the Washington Metropolitan Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony, Long Bay Symphony and others.

Stegall's compact disc of the solo piano music of Belgian impressionist composer Joseph Jongen is in worldwide release on the Klavier-Kalmus International label.
