Faculty art exhibit opens at CCU

"Form and Content: New Works by Visual Arts Faculty," a new exhibit that showcases the visual research of the faculty of Coastal Carolina University's Department of Visual Arts, will be on display at Coastal's Rebecca Randall Bryan Gallery from March 29 to April 19. A public reception is scheduled for Thursday, April 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit and the reception are free.

The exhibit will include new works in ceramics, drawing, printmaking, surface design, sculpture, photography, painting, book arts, and graphic design by 14 Coastal faculty members.

Participating artists include: Steven Bleicher, mixed media; Cynthia Farnell, drawing; Daryl Fazio, graphic design; Dina Hall, photography; Sandra K. Hardee, book arts; Elizabeth Keller, ceramics; Maura Kenny, painting; Treelee MacAnn, printmaking; Jo-Ann Morgan, sculpture; Cheryl Green Munn, painting; Paul Olsen, photography; Arthur Siegel, photography; Susan Slavik, surface design and jewelry; and Charles Wright, sculpture.

Coastal Carolina University's Department of Visual Arts offers a bachelor's degree in studio art with concentrations in graphic design, painting, printmaking, photography, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and art education. Coastal also offers a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree with a specialization in art. The program has more than 175 majors, 11 full-time faculty members and eight part-time faculty. The department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
